Grove City is a small, tight-knit waterfront community near Placida Harbor and the mouth of Coral Creek. With a population of 2,106 and a median age of 67.2 (Data source: U.S. Census Bureau / Data Commons), most residents here are retired homeowners who have owned their properties for years. That means mature oak trees, established landscaping, and gutters that collect leaf litter and Spanish moss faster than most people expect.
The subtropical climate doesn't help. Grove City sits at roughly 26.91Β°N latitude, which puts it square in the path of Southwest Florida's heavy summer rain season. From June through September, storms roll in off the Gulf almost daily.
Gutters that are even partly blocked can't move that volume of water fast enough, and the overflow goes straight into the soil against your foundation or down behind your fascia board.
